Drag persona as performance art
Drag is a form of expression, that plays with the stereotypes of gender. I perform under the drag artist name Dirty Mary, that is also a hint at my real name. Dirty Mary is elegant, glamorous and charming, but there could also be blood, mud, or holy water on stage.
My drag persona is almost a cult leader, who sensually invites you to join and forget your everyday problems. I often use christian religious symbols, but I like to give them more of magic and afect.
I've performed in local Tartu queer parties and organized a drag show. I do it all hand in hand with my community and I will keep performing and organizing events.
