knitwear collection “Kadristik”

The knitwear collection draws inspiration from estonian traditions around Katherine’s Day, translating folklore traditions and the surrounding mythology into clothing.

The main material is wool, since the kadripäev traditions center around women and animal keeping. The collection is mainly machine knitted, but also woven on the loom with heddles and includes some hand knitting.

The red rims and circles are inspired by red hems of Estonian traditional skirts, protecting the wearer from evil.
